This is your bridge. This is your sacred connection to the Earth:
1) Eleutherococcus senticosus root/Dried Siberian Ginseng Root
Originating in Russia and not a true Ginseng, Siberian Ginseng does have a long history as an Adaptogen--an agent that helps the body strengthen through stress. Most recently, Siberain Ginseng is recognized as the botanical agent that helped the Russian Olympic Athletes and all of their success dating from the 1960's through the 1980's.
2) Withania somnifera root/Fresh Ashwagandha Root
Also known as Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha has a history that dates back thousands of years. This botanical is one of the most widely used herbs for its calming, grounding and tonifying effects. Records indicated that Alexander the Great and his army used to make Ashwagandha wine to help recover from the trecherous battles.
3) Avena sativa seed / Fresh Milky Oats Seed
The seed found in the milky stage produces a sweet and pleasant tasting nutritional fluid. An "Old World" botanical, Milky Oats Seeds are wonderful strengtheners of connective tissue and nerves and therfore in modern times have become a fantastic Adaptogen.
4) Aralia racemosa root / Fresh Wild Sarsaparilla Root
Wild Sarsaparilla has a broad folk history dating back to the 1600's where it was used as a blood and kidney tonic. More recently, Wild Sarsaparilla has been utilized for its broader hormonal balancing effects, helping to reduce acne and improve both thyroid and adrenal function.
5) Glycyrrhiza glabra root / Dried Licorice Root
Licorice Root is one of those herbs that has been around since ancient times. It was found in great quantities in the tomb of King Tut among his gold, jewelry and art treasures. During Midevail times, Licorice extract was said to be equal to that of "grains of paradise". Licorice root is one of the oldest and most celebrated herbs in history; owing these virtues to its diverse and profound qualities.
6) Dioscorea villosa root/ Fresh Wild Yam Root
Wild Yam is a traditional North and Central American Indian remedy that was readily adopted by American pioneers and brought out west. In recent times, Wild Yam has become processed for hormone production, but its history is rich and alive within the folk tradition for its anti-spasmodic and toning benefits.
7) Panax quinquefolius root/ Dried Red Asian Ginseng Root
Derived from the Greek word Panacea in reference to the wide virtues the Ancient Chinese ascribed to it, Ginseng seems to help with almost everything. Chinese legend reveals that only the Emperor was allowed to collect the Ginseng roots as it possessed magical properties. It is classified as a "Yang" tonic meaning that it restores heat and energy.
8) Schisandra chinensis fruit/ Dried Wu-Wei-Zi Fruit
The name of this fruit is derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine that refers to this as "Five Taste Fruit". As such, it is believed that Schisandra posesses all five tastes (sour, bitter, sweet, spicy and salty) and therefore possesses the essence of all five of the elemental energies (wood, fire, earth, metal and water). Schisandra is a well-respected tonic for life.
